Two Hearts Two Faces: A Deal With Destiny

Scene 1
The wind blew with the music in the air that was playing from a nearby kingdom in the Scottish Highlands. The trees framed the fork-divided paths and complimented the perfectly assembled stones and bushes along it. On the paths wandered three familiar junior heroes that were strangers in the place of the Gaels. They silently walked along, closely observing the new world that they had reached.

“Are you sure the King said that this was the place?” Sora asked Goofy in confusion, the Captain of the King’s Royal Courts.

“Yup. The King promised that we would find the help you’re looking for.” Goofy told Sora.

Sora ran his fingers through his hair and looked left and then right as he walked down the path. Somehow it reminded him of a similar path in the Land of the Dragons and the thought of this gave Sora a crooked smile. To think that was just over a year ago. Feels like yesterday.
Donald, the Court’s Magician, noticed a strange clear ghost-like creature, floating around in the woods on the right side of the path.

“It feels kind of nice, traveling with you guys like this after so long.”  Sora told his friends. Ever since Sora had returned home with Kairi and Riku, he has been apart from Donald and Goofy for a very long time.

“That’s for sure.” Goofy agreed. Donald awed in the glow of the creature and slowly began falling behind from the others before Sora noticed from the lack of flapping flippers by his side.

“Donald can you hurry up?” Sora called, overlapping his fingers and cradling the back of his head with them.

“Hey, look!” Donald said, pointing deep into the forest. Goofy and Sora jogged back to where Donald stood and looked past the bushes.

“Woah!” Sora said amazed. “What is that?”

“Looks like some kind uh ghost.” Goofy guessed, before another appeared just beyond the first making a beautiful and quiet sound of innocence.

“Whak!” Donald gasped in shock., falling backwards.

“Do you think we should follow them?” Goofy asked.

“I don’t know, but something is definitely telling me that we should.” Sora said, lifting his leg above a large bush and almost tripping over it. “Come on!” He said, gesturing with his right hand for the others to follow him.
Soon, more and more “ghosts” appeared after the other and disappeared each time the three of them got close. They continued to run after them until they were brought to a small cottage under a hillside and all of the creatures vanished. The boys stood in front of the cottage in silence.

“They brought us HERE?” Donald asked, disappointed.

“What a waste.” Sora sighed, dropping his arms and head down.

“Uh, don’t you want to check it out first before making conclusions?” Goofy asked. Donald and Sora looked at each other pathetically and followed Goofy to the front door. Sora knocked twice leaning in and resting his right ear on the surface of the wood until it flung open, hitting Sora’s head and sending him on top of Donald onto the ground.

“Hey!” Donald yelled.

“Welcome to the Crafty Carver! Please, come in!” An old woman, no taller than Donald grabbed Sora’s arm and pulled him into her tiny wooden firm. Donald followed and then Goofy who had hit his head on the upper part of the door frame.

“Tell me if you see anything you like. Everything is half off!” The woman explained as she whipped down one of the counters and tucked her wavy grey locks behind her ears. Sora looked around at the countless amounts of carved wood in the shapes of bears. He crinkled his eyebrows in awkwardness.

“Uh no thanks.” He told her, poking at wooden sharpener.  “Hey listen. We were kind of hoping that you could help us with something. I’m looking for someone who can do me a really huge favor. The type of favor that would almost need magic to get done.” The old woman froze.

“Sorry, there’s no one around here who can help you with that kind of a request.” The old woman said, picking up a carved piggy bank in the shape of a bear head.

“Do you like to save? Here’s the perfect way for you to start.” The woman said. Sora stepped to the side.

“But the King said that I could find someone here who could help me.” Sora pleaded.

“How about this instead?” The woman asked, bringing out a vase. “With this you can impress any lady friend and…”

“I don’t need any of your carvings.” Sora interrupted in frustration. The woman weighed down her eyebrows and Donald’s boredom led him to snoop around. Then the woman faked a smile.

“I told you, you were misinformed.”

“But those ghostly creatures lead us here.” Goofy stated. The woman gasped.

“The will o wisps.” She whispered, snapping a finger in a ‘c’ motion. Sora’s eyes lit up.

“So you do know something?” He said.

“What? No! I’m just a humble wood carver!” She defended.

“Whak!” Donald gasped, pointing at a cloth that was whipping down the shelves on its own. The woman snapped her fingers and it fell slack.

“Woah!” Sora and Goofy both said.

“You’re a, a…” Sora had trouble speaking.

“A WITCH!” Donald yelled.

“A wood carver!” The old woman said with both hands on her hips and her faces inches away from Donalds. Sora grabbed one of the woman’s hands.

“Please, you have to help me!” Sora pleaded.

“If you’re not going to buy anything then get out!” She spoke up, and started pushing them out the door.

“Hey!, Urgh, Lady!” Sora complained, being shoved into Goofy.

“Out, out!” She said.

“But, wait!” Sora spoke, but the woman ignored him. “Wait! What if I gave you this?” Sora
said quickly, holding out a large sparkling red gem that he had pulled out from his pocket which he had salvaged from the Cave of Wanders.

“Hey! That’s mine!” Donald yelled, charging for it. Sora successfully dodged him and held it out to the witch. She held out her hand and Sora stepped back.

“I’ll give you this in exchange for a spell.” Sora persuaded. Goofy awed in interest.

“Hmm... and what kind of spell are you asking for, son?” The woman asked, hypothetically.

“I have this friend. And he doesn’t have a heart.” Sora began. “And I think that… even a nobody like him deserves a chance at life. A real life. A life with a heart. And friends.” Sora looked down to the ground, remembering the struggle the he and his friend went through. Donald and Goofy patted him on the back.

“And where is this friend?” The woman asked. Sora looked back up and brought his hand to his chest.

“He’s… in here.” Sora told her, implying that his friend lay dormant within him.

“Hmm…” The woman considered for a moment and shoved them out of her cottage.

“Hey!” They complained. The witch walked out of the cottage and shut the door. She snapped her fingers and walked back into her home, inviting Sora and his friends as well. When they re-entered, the inside had completely changed into a dark room with all four walls adjacent to a large black cauldron.

“Last time I did this was for a princess.” The woman said, grabbing a magnifying glass from a table. “She wanted to change her mother to get out of an arranged marriage. She wanted to change her fate.”

The woman walked up to Sora and grabbed him by the ear. She pulled him down to her level and turned his head from side to side roughly, examining every inch of him. Sora felt slightly uncomfortable but decided to ignore it.

“She gave me this.” The woman held out a silver pendent. “For a spell.” Sora stretched his arm that the woman had released after thoroughly examining it.

“So, you can really help bring out my friend and give him a heart?” Sora asked.

“Sure!” She flapped her hands once. “But, there is something you should know.” She said quietly.

“What’s that?” Goofy asked.

“By changing fate, you are changing what is meant to be and with that comes many consequences that could end badly.” The witch warned.

“Badly, how?” Donald asked.

“Well, it can confuse the natural chance, and mix up a lot of worlds and unlock many strange paths.” The witch foretold as she began collecting ingredients from under the cabinets and couches.

“But nothing bad would happen to Roxas right? Or me?” Sora asked.

“No, everything should be fine…I think.” The witch said with a pathetic smile, holding out her hand.

Sora, Donald and Goofy all looked at each other once more and Goofy put his hand on Sora’s shoulder before nodding. Sora wanted his friend to have another shot at life, more than anything.

“Deal?” She insisted, holding all the ingredients in one hand behind her while still holding out the other.

“Deal.” Sora nodded once and shook her hand. The witch smiled and began mixing her ingredients into the cauldron. Light emitted from her magic and fog was overflowing the room. The old woman reached out, plucked a hair from Sora’s head and released it into the pot. Soon after, glimmer started flying out of the vessel with such wonderful grace that it tempted Donald to reach out but was slapped away by the witch. Sora felt a strain in his heart while the witch grabbed a pair of tongs.

“It’s done.” She said, reaching into the sparkly mass and pulling out what seemed to be two pieces of white coconut chocolate bound together.

“That’s it?” Donald complained.

“If I eat this, Roxas and I will be separated?” Sora asked, taking the chocolate in a paper towel.

“No. Eat one piece and you will separate. Give him the second piece, and the spell will be permanent!” The witch smiled, taking the red gem from Sora and stowing it away.

Sora, Donald and Goofy began making their way out of the cottage until the old woman waved them goodbye.

“Uh, thank you ma’am!” Sora waved back.

“Ta Ta! Thank you for your business!” She called. “Oh wait, what was that thing about the spell…?”

“Did you say something?” Sora asked turning around. But he mysteriously had already been back on the path, far from the witch’s cottage. “Woah.”

“Are you going to eat it now, Sora?” Donald asked.

“I… I don’t know.” Sora said, scared.

“Don’t you want to wait until you get back home to the islands, Sora?” Goofy asked.

“Yah. You’re right.” Sora sighed while heading to the Gummi Ship. “I’ll wait.”

Here it is. Scene one! I was going to make it longer, but i'm still working out how to make the next scene happen, so i'll shorten it for now. So what do you guys think? Can you Disney fans guess what world they're in?

The point is that Sora wants to separate himself from Roxas because he wants to give him another chance at life with a real heart and he will do whatever it takes to give him that, so he asked the King for advice, and Mickey told him about this place.

Anyway, i think all of you Kingdom Hearts fans will love the story. I've played the main two games HUNDREDS of times, ive lost count, so you don't have to worry about the characters being out of character. I know Roxas and Sora just as well as i know Inuyasha and Kagome, so no worries there.
Here's my other OC with Roxas that will be taking part of the story as well;

Kingdom Hearts and other characters(c) Disney and Square Enix

So check it out, if you're interested in the game, AFFT, or Romance/Drama/Adventure, i recommend that you check it out below!
